What it is
ID card login is a SchoolDay authentication method that uses a physical badge printed with a unique QR code. Users hold the badge up to a device webcam to sign in — no username or password required.
What it does
Each QR code is uniquely tied to a student’s or teacher’s SchoolDay account. Scanning the code authenticates the user immediately. Because QR codes are linked to user data rather than school assignments, changes to class enrollments do not invalidate an existing ID card.
Why use it
ID card login helps younger students sign in when typing credentials is difficult. It also works as an authentication factor with SchoolDay Login MFA. In a two step login process, it can serve as the first or second factor.
