Mark an application as PII approved or unapproved
Set a district-level PII approval flag to indicate an app meets your privacy and security requirements.
In this article
The PII Approved flag is an internal admin tracking marker. It records that you have reviewed how this application handles PII data and found it acceptable. It is separate from the tag-based approval workflow. Setting it does not change the approval status that teachers see, and it is not required to complete an application review.
Use it when your district process requires a documented technical data review that is distinct from the classroom-use decision. For example, an app may be Approved for Use by teachers while the PII Approved flag remains unset because the data review is still in progress, or not required at all for that app.
Before you begin

- Go to Applications.
- Select an application

Verify the status
After approving, the PII Approved column in the Applications list updates to reflect the new status. Use this column as a filter to quickly show all PII-approved (or unapproved) applications across your district.
Next steps
- Manage application tags: Apply tags to further classify the application's review status.
- Export district application report (CSV): The report includes PII approval status for all applications.
