September 2026, Release Notes
Features
Governance dashboards
Audience: District Admins
SchoolDay Connect now centralizes integration monitoring in one Governance section, covering every vendor integration instead of managing them one at a time. This includes the following dashboards:
- Governance: a ranked summary of the most urgent issues across the district.
- Discover: integration inventory, health status, and expiring agreements.
- Enforce: which applications receive unmasked personal data, by field and by application.
- Validate: sync reliability, failure alerts, and historical sync events.
Moving between these dashboards allows admins to efficiently identify issues, implement fixes, and verify results.
Note: Requires an active Governance subscription.
SFTP Relay: forward files between two SFTP servers in Connect
Audience: District Admins
A new integration type that forwards files between two SFTP servers without processing their contents. Unlike SFTP import and export, a relay forwards files as-is and requires two complete endpoints. Connect now supports import, export, 2-way sync, and pass-through relay, so districts can operate all file-based integrations from one platform. Relay integrations appear in the Governance dashboards like any other connected application.
See Set up an SFTP relay.
Additional identity provider configuration settings
Audience: District Admins
Admins can now configure additional settings when activating an SSO identity provider in Connect, including Trust IdP email (all providers), Allowed tenant IDs (Microsoft Azure), Email verification behavior (all providers), and Allowed email domains (Google). These settings appear in a configuration screen after Activate is selected, with recommended defaults and provider-specific fields shown only for the relevant provider.
Note: These settings are available only to districts that have migrated to the Authentication engine. Districts that have not migrated continue to use the existing activation flow; no configuration screen appears, and no additional setup is required.
Note: Settings and their availability may vary by provider. Review each setting's description before saving, as some changes can affect end-user sign-in.
See Add an identity provider for SchoolDay sign-in.
Updates
LTI 1.3 SSO support
Audience: District Admins
Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI) 1.3 SSO is now available, giving admins a way to connect applications that support the LTI 1.3 standard, with improved security and configuration compared to LTI 1.1. Admins who want to set up an LTI 1.3 connector will submit a request to SchoolDay Support. LTI 1.3 connectors follow the standard setup process for SSO connector types; to get started, please reach out to SchoolDay Support.
Application risk levels replace numeric risk scores in the Privacy Governance Console
Audience: District Admins
In the Privacy Governance Console (PGC), admins now see a Risk Level of Low (0–40), Medium (41–70), or High (71–100) on the Applications page and the application details page, replacing the numeric risk score. A single band tells you immediately whether an application needs review, instead of leaving you to interpret what one point of difference between two scores meant.
District application report enhancements
Audience: District Admins
The District Application Report export completes in under 8 seconds at any district size and returns 32 columns, with a description of each column in row 2 of the file. Exports that previously failed on large application lists now complete. See District Application Report (Export to CSV).
Risk Score column format change
Audience: District Admins
The Risk Score column in the PGC district application report CSV returns Low, Medium, or High. Integrations that parse this column as a numeric value must be updated. This change applies to all new exports after September 28, 2026.
Security and reliability improvements
Audience: All
SchoolDay has implemented a series of security, performance, and infrastructure enhancements to improve platform reliability, scalability, and operational resilience. These updates strengthen the overall platform foundation and help ensure a more secure and stable experience for all customers.
