Map schools from your SIS to SchoolDay
Learn how to connect data fields from your Student Information System (SIS) to SchoolDay attributes
School mapping connects schools from your Student Information System (SIS) to schools in SchoolDay. This ensures student, staff, and class data syncs into the correct schools.
You'll complete school mapping during your initial SIS integration setup and anytime you add or restructure schools in your district.
Requirements
- Primary District Admin permissions
- An Import application already configured in SchoolDay
- Schools must exist in your SIS
Map schools to SchoolDay
Access school mapping
- Go to the Home page.
- Select your SIS import app.
- Click Settings in the top right.
- Select the Schools Mapping tab.

Select schools to sync
You can map schools individually or all at once.
To map individual schools:
- Turn on the Create New SchoolDay School toggle next to each school you want to sync.
- Click Save.
By default, the SchoolDay school name matches the SIS school name.
To map all schools automatically:
- Click Auto Mapping at the top left.
- Click Save.
Map to an existing school (optional)
If you already created a school in SchoolDay and want to sync SIS data into it instead of creating a duplicate:
- Find your SIS school in the list.
- In the SchoolDay School dropdown, select the existing school name.
- Click Save.
Example: If you already set up "Lincoln Elementary" in SchoolDay, you can map your SIS's "Lincoln Elem" to that existing school.
Filter the school list (optional)
Use the filters at the top to view specific school types:
- Existing: Schools already mapped and syncing data
- Missing: Schools in your SIS that aren't mapped to SchoolDay yet
- Schools with missing data: Schools that were removed or deleted from your SIS but still exist in SchoolDay
Delete school mappings
Deleting a school mapping stops data from syncing to that school. Data already imported remains in SchoolDay unless you manually delete it in Administration > Organizations. See Manage Organizations.
To delete a mapping:
- Go to Connect > Home and select an import app.
- Click Settings in the top right.
- Go to Schools Mapping tab.
- Find the mapping you want to remove.
