Run sync manually for an application

Trigger an on-demand sync for any Import, Export, or 2-Way Sync app at any time, outside your scheduled sync window

Trigger a sync immediately when you need data updated now — for example, after a mid-year enrollment change or to troubleshoot a data issue — without waiting for the next scheduled run.

By default, manual syncs run in Full Sync mode. To change modes, see Sync modes in SchoolDay.

Requirements

  • Primary District Admin permissions
  • Application must be activated and in Active status

Run sync

  1. Go to the Home page.
  2. Select the application you want to sync.
  3. Click Run Import, Run Export, or Run Sync. The button label depends on your app type.
  4. For some integrations, a dropdown appears instead of an immediate sync.
    1. Full import / Full sync: Transfers all records from your data source. Available for: All app types
    2. Incremental: Transfers only records changed since the last sync. PowerSchool only (enabled by Support).
    3. Preview mode: Shows what would change without applying anything.

The sync starts immediately and the application status updates to reflect progress.

Note: If Data Preview Mode is enabled for this application, changes are not applied automatically. Go to the History tab to review and accept or decline the sync results. See Enable Data Preview Mode.

    Verify the sync

    1. Go to the application page.
    2. Check the sync status badge:
      1. Active: sync completed without issues
      2. Any other status: action may be required
    3. To review details, go to the History tab and select the latest sync entry.
