Creating Roles & Classes

Class is a collection of users that can have multiple Roles, while a Role contains a set of access privileges to SchoolDay. The Standard version of SchoolDay supports predefined Roles for Students, Parents, Teachers, and the Administrator. The Premium version of SchoolDay allows you to create and define your own Roles.

Creating Roles

To create a Role:

1. Select AppStore to open the Passport Configuration screen.
2. Click the ADD ROLE button.
3. The New Role popup will appear. Enter a unique name for the Role in the Role Name field, and then click OK to close the popup.

Creating Classes

To create a Class perform the following actions:

1. Select AppStore to open the Passport Configuration screen.
2. Click the ADD CLASS button.
3. The Classes screen will appear. Start adding the new Class by clicking the Add Class link above the classes table.
4. The Class Details screen will appear. Fill in the information. After all the information is entered, click the ADD CLASS button.
