[Access & Security](https://help.schoolday.com/knowledge/resource-management-app-store?hsLang=en#access-security) August 31, 2026 # Activate Parent Portal for Your Organization ## This article will guide you through the steps required to activate the Parent Portal. **Audience:** ✅District Admin  To sign in to the Parent Portal, you'll need to enable a Parent Portal account for your district. A Parent Portal account lets parents in the district use the Parent Portal features to track their children's activities including features such as adding an app, or creating a Bookmark. ### Step 1. Sync parents' data To enable the Parent Portal, import parent data from your data source (such as a Student Information System) into SchoolDay Connect. This ensures that all parent and student information is current before activation. ### Step 2. Access support Once you import parent data from a data source to SchoolDay Connect, reach out to the SchoolDay Support Team to request the activation of Parent Portal functionality. Contact the designated support channel, such as [email](mailto:support@gg4l.com) or [Customer Portal,](https://help.gg4l.com/support?hsLang=en) and clearly state your request. Provide essential details, such as your district name, and account information. ### Step 3. Await support request The SchoolDay Support Team will review your request and activate the Parent Portal account for your organization.  They will provide any necessary instructions to ensure successful activation. Please be prepared to supply any additional information the Support Team may request. If you have not received a reply within two business days, follow up via your original support channel. ### Step 4.  Configure login method for parents After receiving a response from the SchoolDay Support Team, configure the sign-in for parents through a third-party IdPs or with their SchoolDay credentials. Currently, parents can get access via the following login methods: - **Google SSO**: See [Login with Google](https://help.gg4l.com/knowledge/sso-login-with-google?hsLang=en) for detailed instructions. - **Facebook SSO**: See [Login with Facebook](https://help.gg4l.com/knowledge/login-with-facebook?hsLang=en) for detailed instructions. *Note: Verify that Facebook SSO is still supported for your district's configuration, as platform support may change.* - **SchoolDay credentials**: To configure, please create an invitation link with a JWT token. For detailed instructions, see [Create an Invitation Link via JWT Token](https://help.gg4l.com/knowledge/create-an-invitation-link-via-jwt-token?hsLang=en). **Note:** Parents who choose to log in with their SchoolDay credentials will be required to [create a Parent Portal account](https://help.gg4l.com/knowledge/create-parent-portal-account?hsLang=en) initially. However, parents who use Google and Facebook logins do not need to complete any additional account setup steps. ### Step 5. Add apps to the Parent Portal Once you have configured a login method for parents, you need to assign suitable apps to parents and guardians. Finish When you finish configuring, send an invitation to parents and guardians with a link to the Parent Portal.
